Lindsey Cook is completing her master's degree in Speech Language Pathology at the University of Akron. Lindsey first began to understand the impact that this profession has on its clients when she was just three years old and seeing a speech pathologist for stuttering. The amount of confidence and compassion that Lindsey’s SLP instilled in her was enough to know that this career path was a calling, not just a job. Currently. Lindsey is going into her second semester of graduate school. After earning her Masters, Lindsey hopes to be a travelling speech language pathologist and work in an acute hospital setting with either pediatric or adult patients with neurological disorders. The amount of growth that Lindsey has seen in her clinically supervised clients in only one short semester is enough to be excited about the limitless possibilities this profession will be able to give her clients in the future. Lindsey is extremely grateful for the $1,500 scholarship from Quota International of Massillon Club.
Skylee Bowlin plans on using my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Intervention Specialist K-12 to work in a local school in Canton. I currently am student teaching in a 5th grade classroom at Our Lady of Peace Elementary School and I love it more and more every day! After graduation, while teaching, I plan to begin my Master’s in Education, so that one day I can become a Reading Specialist. I hope to spread my love for education and reading to my students, so that they can make the world a better place for not only them, but everyone! I want to teach all of my students to thrive and see their full potential in every aspect of their life. I will show and teach them how to be kind and caring, by showing them unconditional love every day!
Throughout high school, Isabella Warner had the opportunity to work with Spanish-speaking students who were struggling to learn due to the language barrier. I was able to translate for these students in their classes and assist in teaching them the material so that they could succeed in class and begin to understand what they were learning. Helping students adjust to life and school in a new place became extremely fulfilling for me and I decided to complete my studies at Kent State on the track to becoming a bilingual School Psychologist. This scholarship will go towards my education in graduate school where I will gain the knowledge and experience I need to help students with learning barriers become successful in school and in their future. Thank you Quota International of Massillon for the opportunity to continue my education so that I will be equipped to assist disadvantaged students in my future career!
Kasey Langenfield's dream is to receive my Master's Degree and go on to work in a pediatric hospital and work with children who have speech and language disorders. We all deserve to have a voice, and I would be honored to work with those who have difficulty finding their voice.
Kaitlyn Engelhart is so grateful for the support of Quota International of Massillon as I pursue
my degree in speech-language pathology. Ever since I found the
profession as part of a career exploration unit in the eighth grade, I
have wanted to give children the gift of speech and expression. After
graduation, I plan to obtain my master's, gaining clinical experience.
One day, I hope to work in a school, helping my students find their
own unique way to communicate, and in turn, academic achievement.
